Time with Liz and Boyd

When we left Bristol we stopped for the evening in Nashville to visit with Michael’s friend, former coworker, and roommate from Sitka, Eric Goss and his wife Mary. We had a great time meeting Mary and spent the evening catching up. Their neighbor was kind enough to let us camp in her driveway for the night. She was out of town and I guess a few of the neighbors sent her pictures of the “Hippies in the Bus” squatting in her driveway.

We went on to our Aunt Liz and Uncle Boyd’s house in Canton, GA to visit and get ready for a 2 week trip with them to see some of the Georgia and South Carolina sights. While we were there we met Boyd’s sister and her family. Great people seem to run in the family. We started with 5 days at Old Federal Campground on Lake Sydney Lanier. This Army Corps of Engineers campground was the nicest campground we have been in for our entire travels to date. Highly recommend it if you are in the area.

Martha and Liz hanging out in the shade, probably making evil plans!

Boyd’s night to cook! Yippee! We took turns hosting dinner each night. Lots of great meals.

Sadie, Harper, and Sophia love to go camping. These 3 spent their time practicing for the May Day festivities and decorating the May Pole.

Lake Sydney Lanier is a 44 mile long lake created when the TVA built a dam to provide power and water along the Chatahoochi River

Boyd and Ruckus just hanging out.

On our way from Old federal campground to Myrtle Beach, SC we spent the night at a Harvest Host outside Greenville, SC. Golden Grove Farm and Brew had some great beer and pizza and a disc golf course for anyone that wanted to play. Ruckus definitely would have chased some frisbees. It’s always good to get some Gubment Cheez!

Boyd found a new friend on the way back to the RV.

Myrtle Beach and Pirate Land campground are a great place to take in the sunrise. We spent a week here enjoying all the area has to offer.

We got adjacent campsites and made one common area. Some people might say that we belonged 2 campsites over….

The dogs are only allowed on the beach before 10 am and after 5 pm so we took a walk down the beach each evening after dinner. All the dogs loved it.

Someone made a very nice sand castle, we can’t take credit for it. Ruckus did work on filling the mote!

I never met these folks, but really loved their car.

Pirateland had a very nice pool with a lazy river. Martha and I enjoyed it a few days. Only negative is that unlike Las Vegas, there is no bar to provide cocktails for the float.

Ever feel like someone is looking over your shoulder.

We had a great couple of weeks traveling and camping with Liz, Boyd, and the girls. I am sure we will meet up again soon.
