When Ruckus heard that we had to take a two week time out while I served my Jury Duty, he couldn’t even bring himself to get out of bed to get a drink. No, seriously, I take my civic duties to heart and there were some other chores that need to be handled also.

One of the first tasks was to pick up five weeks worth of mail. MZDAZY got her permanent registration and personalized name tag. Never, ever have to renew. Thank you State of Alaska.

We spent a couple of days camped out at our fried Terry’s hanger at the Palmer Airport while I finished up some work on another friends airplane (not pictured). Terry has tenants with neat Beavers.

Not a bad view for a hanger camp out!

No Jury Duty on Saturday, so off to Alaska Raceway Park for a night of racing!

Alaska Raceway Park is part of the Harvest Hosts group so they set us up with a nice grassy spot right outside of the pits for the night. The racing action was good and the competitor for the most part had a good time and were more than happy to talk to me about their cars for was long as I would stand there.

Sunday we headed to the Forget Me Not campground near Big Lake so I could help a friend out with an Annual on his airplane. Ruckus was very happy with his own private lake.

Steve’s little J-3/5 is a joy to work on. It was lovingly restored by a gentleman in Juneau a few years back. It is also fun to teach Steve about his airplane. Steve is a new pilot and learned in this airplane. He works on remote road projects in the summer and left on this afternoon to go back to work in Dillingham, quite an adventure at 85mph.

Next we headed over to our friends, Don and Penny’s place for a couple of days. Don helped me with the welding to build this table and wall in front of Martha’s seat. We had a Wonderfull seafood feast that I was so busy eating, there are no pictures!

After a rainy night in Talkeetna, we headed up the Parks highway for the interior. We will be staying a few days in Denali Park on our way back so we stopped to gather information to plan for it. I think it must be the COVID situation, because none of the park employees were very helpful and just sending us to someone else or just telling us to go online.
