Heading to high ground
After 3 weeks in one place, it was time to hit the road. We are headed to Utah to see Jessica, daughter #2, and her family. We prefer secondary highways when possible and with a cruise speed of 62mph, I generally choose the route with the least miles. Google maps takes speed limits into consideration when plotting a route, but 80mph speed limits on the interstate don’t help us any.
Another advantage of secondary roads is that you get to see more than just truck stops. Cattle round up anyone?
We stopped on our way through Boise at Camping World. We now have a new “living room” rug. We also have a few more items. Do not go to Camping World thinking you are just going to pick up one thing.
We broke up the drive by stopping at Lake Wolcott in south eastern Idaho. We stayed a couple of nights and just relaxed. Ruckus never relaxes when there is water available.
The park that the campground is attached to is absolutely gorgeous. I lost count of how many deer were living here.
In the morning we had deer looking in through the windows in the door. When I opened the door to take a picture, this is as far as they went. Hunting season or not, there is no hunting in the park. I think they read the signs!
The park had lots of fun things. Martha found a new friend.
Another state line crossed! Hello Utah.
This is the hill you climb to reach Jessica and Adrian’s house. Once we got up there we saw the signs saying it was a 12% grade. It was 1.2 miles up that road and thank goodness for the tune up to MzDazy because I can assure you that she would not have made it otherwise. We found an alternative, less steep way down.
On Saturday Adam (lower left)making the goofy face, and his flag football team had their playoff and championship games. They won them both and are League Champs! Adam is quite the player and scored multiple touchdowns.
Ruckus had a great time playing with the kids and his doggy cousins.

Sunday was Adam’s 8th birthday. He is the youngest of 5 and a pretty cool kid. We were very happy to spend his birthday with him. This is the coolest cake topper ever, it popped open, spun around, and played Happy Birthday!
Crepes were his request for breakfast. Jessica and the gang made a fantastic “crepe bar”.

Everyone wants in on the gift opening fun, well except Grumpy Panda!
Leah was trying out for a future job as our driver. I think she will have to wait until she can reach the pedals.
These two look so much alike. It’s like looking at the same person 50 years apart.
Adrian and Jessica have an RV pad along side the garage. It made the visit so nice to be right there. Thank you for the hospitality. It was awesome to have time to visit with a professional blogger and get some tips. I think you will all notice some nice changes.
